Megan Brotherston

Associate Director, Mortgage Origination

Bio

As an Associate Director within the Canada ICI Toronto office Megan brings the expertise to work alongside clients and lenders to underwrite, structure, and fund commercial mortgages. Megan has performed various roles in the real estate lending sector over the past 15 years and is well positioned to execute on numerous debt capital transactions through the utilization of her well rounded background.

Prior to joining Canada ICI Capital in 2019, Megan adjudicated CMHC loans as well as structured both conventional and more complex CMHC transactions for larger institutional clients leveraging experience gained from prior positions held within prominent MIC and CMBS Lenders. Through close working relationships, Megan will ensure a smooth transaction while advocating for her clients.

I joined CICI because I was able to bring the expertise of working alongside clients and lenders to underwrite, structure, and fund commercial mortgages with a dynamic team, while strengthening my knowledge of construction/land.

The company afforded me the opportunity to join a dynamic organization where I could parlay my term lending experience and evolve within the construction/land financing space.

Before joining CICI, I was adjudicating CMHC loans and structuring both conventional and more complex CMHC transactions for larger institutional clients, leveraging experience gained from prior positions held within prominent MIC and CMBS Lenders.

What I like most about working at CICI is the sense of comradery within all the offices and the encouragement and support to think outside the box.

I believe the keys to success are communication, understanding and honesty with the ability to multi-task on several initiates at one time. Not only does this lend to having a client who is appreciative of a particular transaction, but it also fosters long-standing career relationships, which is the ultimate key to success.

I like working in commercial real estate finance because each loan is unique, providing a fast-paced work environment with no two days the same. You are always learning!
