Scaling Success With Canada ICI’s New COO

An Entrepreneurial Leader for an Entrepreneurial Firm

Margaret Paproski’s career has been built on navigating complex financial environments, optimizing systems, and unlocking growth opportunities. As a leader, she has designed scalable financial structures, integrated automation, and built high-performance teams—all of which position her perfectly for her next challenge: driving Canada ICI’s continued mission of delivering expertise and efficiency for its clients and partners.

I’ve worked across finance, legal and operations – building structures from the ground up and refining them for efficiency. That full spectrum of experience gives me a unique perspective and allows me to connect the dots in a way that drives measurable results.

– M. Paproski

For over three decades, Canada ICI has helped borrowers secure capital and helped lenders deploy funds into high-quality commercial real estate investments. The firm has thrived by balancing entrepreneurial agility with institutional discipline. As Canada ICI expands its ability to serve more borrowers and investor partners, Margaret’s expertise in structured finance, investment banking, and operational leadership will ensure that even more clients receive the trusted guidance, capital solutions, and support they need to succeed in commercial real estate.

Canada ICI is built on execution. Margaret’s leadership ensures that we stay agile while strengthening the systems that drive performance. She brings a depth of financial expertise and a hands-on approach to operational execution—exactly what we need as we grow.

From Complex Deals to Seamless Execution

Margaret has spent her career refining financial operations and structuring multi-billion-dollar deals. She began in tax law, developing financial strategies to help clients optimize capital structures, before moving into investment banking at Lehman Brothers, where she worked on M&A, financing transactions, and IPOs. Her ability to understand both the macroeconomic landscape and the intricate details of structuring deals has been a consistent advantage.

At Lehman Brothers, I saw firsthand how the speed of execution impacts a client’s ability to seize an opportunity. When you reduce friction and improve communication between financial teams, deals close faster, and clients gain confidence in the process.

– M. Paproski

Later, as General Counsel at Midnight Sun Financial, she structured and issued over $3 billion in financial products, developing scalable operational systems and compliance protocols to support large-scale transactions. Her leadership benefitted investors by ensuring more efficient execution and enhanced regulatory oversight.

At InvestDEFY Technologies, she designed and implemented structured operational workflows to support the firm’s complex financial offerings, ensuring seamless execution. She also played a key role in leveraging data and technology to enhance risk assessment and improve financial decision-making in a rapidly evolving market.

Now, as Chief Operating Officer at Canada ICI, Margaret is focused on translating her expertise into tangible improvements that benefit our stakeholders, and the entire financing ecosystem.

Better Insights, Stronger Investor Alignment

Canada ICI has built a reputation as a premier originator of commercial real estate loans, giving institutional lenders access to high-quality, well-structured investment opportunities. Margaret’s leadership will further strengthen this process by enhancing underwriting insights, improving data flow, and ensuring compliance and consistency across all markets.

At InvestDEFY Technologies, she was instrumental in the development of real-time product performance and risk management tools that enabled investors and the company to make more informed decisions in a rapidly evolving market. At Midnight Sun, she developed financial models that provided insights into the company’s full lineup of structured products, demonstrating her ability to turn raw data into valuable market intelligence.

Data isn’t just numbers – it’s the intelligence that drives better financing strategies and smarter underwriting.

A Faster, Smarter Borrower Experience

Borrowers turn to Canada ICI for capital – but they stay for a seamless, reliable, and efficient financing process. Margaret is committed to making that experience even smoother by integrating automation and optimizing workflows, ensuring the firm’s ability to serve clients remains unmatched.

At Felesky Flynn LLP, she designed an automated document drafting system that cut transaction processing time by over 80%—a testament to how the right systems accelerate execution without sacrificing quality.

The best financial platforms are built on precision and scalability—when processes are standardized and automated, transactions happen faster at scale.
