Sufiyan joined Canada ICI in March 2025 as a Mortgage Analyst, bringing with him a dynamic background in finance, real estate, and sales. He recently graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a degree in Finance and has enriched his academic pursuits through various co-op experiences. Notably, Sufiyan completed a co-op term as a Private Equity Analyst at MUFG Investor Services and another as a Real Estate Analyst at Turner Drake and Partners. These positions not only deepened his understanding of the finance and real estate sectors, but also ignited his passion for a career that merges these interests.

Currently a CFA candidate, Sufiyan is thrilled to be among the first members of Canada ICI’s new office in Halifax, primarily collaborating with both the Halifax and Ottawa teams. He is eager to apply his analytical skills and industry knowledge to support the team and contribute to the ongoing success of Canada ICI while also learning and growing as much as possible in the world of commercial real estate.

I joined CICI because I was attracted to the robust underwriting opportunities that promise significant exposure to a variety of transactions and asset classes. The organization’s commitment to education, mentorship, and a culture that fosters growth convinced me that this was the ideal environment to develop and expand my skills in commercial real estate finance.

I like working in commercial real estate finance because the field offers a complex interplay of analytical and interpersonal skills, where every transaction presents unique challenges and learning opportunities. This would not only allow me to gain a deep understanding of the market dynamics but will also help me enrich my professional capabilities in significant ways.

I have my sights set on learning and growing as much as possible, developing a well-rounded understanding of the industry, and creating lasting relationships in the commercial real estate community.

My personal core values are first and foremost integrity and honesty in all my work. Additionally, I believe in giving my best in every situation, and maintaining a positive outlook while also being prepared for any and every challenge that may arise. Last but not least, having humility and being kind, treating everyone with respect and kindness, no matter what. These principles guide me daily and are fundamental to achieving both personal and professional fulfillment.

I believe the keys to success are discipline and hard work day in and day out. But true success also demands a commitment to lifelong learning and adaptability when faced with challenges. Equally important would be my ability to build strong, trustworthy relationships both within and outside the organization.
