Spencer has been in Real Estate lending for 15 years, specializing in commercial lending. He has performed various roles in commercial real estate, including structuring and underwriting over 300 separate transactions. Spencer prides himself on providing professional, efficient and effective service to foster long-term relationships.
Joining CICI, Spencer will assist in developing new leads, evaluating potential real estate financing opportunities, structuring proposals and securing financing mandates from borrowers.
I joined CICI because I wanted to be part of a team dedicated to becoming Canada’s leader in commercial real estate. CICI has allowed me to join a dynamic team with vast experience in various transaction types, allowing me to learn, grow and collaborate.
I like working in commercial real estate finance because each deal and each relationship is unique.
The thing I appreciate about commercial lending is the amount of analysis it takes to understand a deal’s intricacies. What may initially seem like an issue may not be in the end, and vice versa.
I believe the keys to success are communication and rapport. Effective communication is the building block that helps establish a trusting relationship with all partners involved. In a fast-paced environment, effective communication is a must, along with understanding what the person on the other end of the phone is looking for and motivated by.
