Brandon Kot is the Managing Partner and is in his 21st year with the firm. Brandon is actively involved in the development of Canada ICI’s national origination and analyst divisions. As a corporate director for organization, he is directly involved with Canada ICI’s corporate strategy and aligning ICI’s vision of becoming Canada’s leading commercial real estate finance firm.
Over the past decade, Brandon has established himself as a leader in Canada’s commercial mortgage industry. He continues to oversee a portfolio of clients, which includes some of the country’s most prominent and active real estate owners and developers. Having directly funded more than $10 Billion in commercial mortgage transactions throughout his career, Brandon remains at the forefront of the debt markets in tandem with building Canada ICI’s national origination team.
Brandon remains active within the community and sits on the board of Trustees as chair of the Audit and Finance committee for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Recognized as one of Canada’s top pediatric hospitals and the most specialized in Western Canada, the Stollery is leading the ambitious No Bounds campaign—a once-in-a-generation initiative launched in late 2025 to raise $1 billion to enhance care for kids today and fund a new, purpose-built, stand-alone children’s hospital.
Brandon also served on the board of Trustees for Melcor Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) (TSX: MR.UN)
I am motivated by building a team (of really great people!!). I take a tremendous amount of pride in the accomplishments of members of our Canada ICI team. Not only have we been fortunate in developing accomplished and driven real estate finance professionals, but we’ve also amassed a group of great people who are solid ambassadors of our organization with shared values.
What I like most about working at CICI is its energy. There is an underlying positive social pressure throughout our organization from Calgary to Ottawa; it’s quite infectious. Growth, collaboration, teamwork, an athlete’s “grinding” mentality, and high integrity are some of the virtues that an overwhelming majority of our team members have. These values resonate with me in many ways, and I value the relationships that I share with many of our Canada ICI team.
I am working towards learning just a bit more to become better every day.
The best part of my day? When I’ve had the time to process my day and the experiences along with it.
