Conner Butler
Analyst, Portfolio Management
Bio
Conner joined Canada ICI in June 2026 as a Portfolio Management Analyst, bringing a strong background in financial analysis. Prior to joining Canada ICI, he worked in the financial services and investment analysis sector, where he developed expertise in equity valuation, derivatives trading, and CRE underwriting mechanics. Conner holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, where he served as a Student Investment Analyst, managing institutional capital and conducting DCF and comparable company analysis. His passion for understanding market dynamics, combined with technical rigor in financial modeling, drives his approach to portfolio management and borrower relationships.
What I find fascinating about commercial real estate finance is the intersection of technical analysis and meaningful borrower relationships, understanding not just the numbers, but the business behind them.
I like working in commercial real estate finance because the complexity of underwriting, market cycles, and borrower performance creates genuine intellectual challenge. Every metric tells a story about asset quality and risk.
I believe the keys to success are disciplined research, intellectual humility about what one doesn’t know, clear communication of findings, and the willingness to constructively challenge assumptions.
I am motivated by learning and growing each day while working with a team to meet ambitious goals and deliver real value in asset management.
My personal core values involve putting my best effort forward no matter what, maintaining a positive mindset, and approaching challenges with curiosity and collaborative energy.
